📈 You scored higher than I expected. Here's what it means.

Hey, Reader!

Happy Easter to you, if you were celebrating. The weather was glorious, so I hit the nursery, got some plants, compost, hanging basket inserts, and got to gardening.

I cleared out the beds. Pulled up the old leaves that had been sitting there since autumn, yanked out the weeds that had got comfortable over winter, and turned the soil properly for the first time in months. Then I planted some bedding plants and tucked in a row of dahlia bulbs... not much to look at now, but give them a few months and they'll be glorious.

It got me thinking about the quiz data I've been sitting with.

Because here's the thing about dahlia bulbs: they look like nothing when you put them in the ground. But they're not doing nothing. They already have everything they need inside them... the structure, the colour, the whole future flower. They just need the conditions to grow.

That's almost exactly what the quiz told me about you.

3 early findings from the quiz

Here's what the data is saying so far:

1. Nobody scored low — the gap isn't knowledge, it's conditions.

The average score: 73/100. Nobody — not one person — came out in the low range. Everyone landed medium or high.

That's not what I expected. I thought I'd see a spread.

What it tells me is that the people taking this quiz already know what they're doing. You have the expertise. You have the point of view. You are not a beginner. The gap isn't knowledge, it's having the right systems to make showing up feel easy rather than exhausting.

2. Social Presence is where the friction is.

44% of respondents had Social Presence as their lowest scoring category. And when I dug into the individual question answers, only 23% say people frequently tell them their online presence is resonating. 27% say rarely. 9% say never.

That's 36% of you showing up into near-silence.

Posting, creating, sharing, and not hearing much back. No wonder it feels hard to stay consistent. It's not that you're doing it wrong. It's that showing up without the right tools is like trying to garden with your bare hands. You can do it, but why would you?

3. You know yourself. You're still getting to know your audience.

This one surprised me most. 55% of respondents are absolutely confident in what makes them different. 55% can answer "Why should I work with you?" without flinching. Message Confidence is a genuine strength.

But when I asked about their audience's frustrations (what their ideal client is actually struggling with) only 41% could answer that firmly. The rest said some version of "I think so, but I'm not certain."

That's not a failure, it's a really useful thing to know. Because when you understand your audience as well as you understand yourself, everything gets easier: the content, the captions, the offers, the way you show up.
