the algorithm wants you human now

Hey Reader

I'll be totally honest with you. This week has not been a great content week. Life had other plans, the plates have been spinning outta control, and something had to give.

And then I read something that made me feel a whole lot better about it.

The polished era of online content is ending. Like, properly ending. Audiences are walking away from perfect, AI-flavoured, guru-shiny content. They can smell it now. And the platforms are rewriting their algorithms to reward the human stuff instead.

Which means the version of you that shows up tired, honest and unpolished? That's not the fallback anymore. That's the strategy.

Here's how to use it 👇

3 ways to give the algorithm the human it wants

Three shifts happened quietly this year and each one rewards being more of the raw, unfiltered you, not the more polished version. Phew, right?

1. Make things worth saving, not liking

On LinkedIn, a save is now worth roughly five times a like. Likes are compliments. Saves mean someone wants to keep what you made. So make keepable things: a checklist, a one-page framework, a "steal this" list.

→ Try this: before you post anything this week, ask one question. Would someone save this? If not, go back and have a little re-think.

2. Pick your signature subject and repeat yourself

Instagram now lets people hand-pick the topics they want in their feed. So the accounts that get surfaced are the ones with a recognisable subject. Not the loudest, but the clearest. You don't need a niche. You need the thing you could talk about forever, showing up again and again.

→ Try this: write down the one subject people already come to you for. That's yours. Repeat it. And if you need a little help, that's what my ROOT Framework is for.

3. Post the unpolished version

People's preference for AI-made creator content has collapsed, from 60% to 26% in three years. LinkedIn can now spot AI-written posts with about 94% accuracy, and it quietly buries them. Use AI behind the scenes all you like, for research, for systems, as your brainstorming partner. But the face and the stories need to be yours.

→ Try this: you know that post that's been sitting in your drafts for weeks because it never feels quite ready? That's the one. Post it this week, exactly as it is. Because done beats perfect. Every. Single. Time.

The imperfect posts are the ones that actually connect. You ARE the niche, and this is the year the algorithms started agreeing with me.

2 things i'm loving

✦ Joy Experiments, even though I'm failing at it right now

Full honesty: I haven't posted a collage in days. Not because I fell out of love with it. Because life. And here's what I'm actually loving: the sketchbook doesn't care. It's sitting there with the glue stick beside it, no judgement, waiting for me to come back. That was always the point. It's an experiment, not a performance.

Come and see the July collages

It's muy scorchio – get some electrolytes in you

My fave is the watermelon salt one: a zero-sugar sachet in a big glass of cold water, sweet and salty, and the magnesium genuinely helps with the tiredness. I get mine from Healf, and if you order through my link you get £10 off.

1 affirmation

This one found me at exactly the right moment this week.

I trust in divine timing. What I plant with love will bloom in perfect time.

The days I didn't post. The collages I didn't make. The content I didn't ship. None of it undoes the planting. Showing up human isn't just what the algorithm rewards now. It's the only pace that actually lasts.

What's one thing you could stop polishing and just post? Hit reply and tell me. I read every one.

That's your 3-2-1 for this week. See you next Thursday!
