Forbes just noticed what I've known for years

Hey, Reader!

Three headlines landed in my feed this week within about an hour of each other. Forbes, MediaPost, and AGEIST, all running some version of the same story: women over fifty are the most powerful, most overlooked founders in business right now. The invisible majority, one of them called us. How very dare they!

I read all three with my tea going cold, and felt two things I wasn't expecting to feel at once. Vindicated, because someone in the mainstream is finally saying the thing out loud. And a bit tired, if I'm honest, because it's taken this flipping long for anyone to notice what a room full of empowered women have known for years.

I sat with it a bit longer than I meant to. Because it's not new information to me, or to you if you're reading this. What was new was watching three separate publications reach for the word "invisible" to describe women who are, in every sense that matters, wildly visible to each other. We see each other constantly. We just weren't being seen by the people writing the headlines.

So here's what none of the three pieces actually said, and it's the bit I want to talk about this week 👇

the 3 things this week's headlines got half right

They're right that something's shifting. They're just not naming the actual shift, so allow me.

1. They call it an opportunity gap. It's actually an identity gap.

Every piece talked about the market: the spending power, the businesses, the untapped potential. None of them talked about what's actually happening underneath, the layer where a woman in her second spring is finally getting clear on who she is without the corporate armour, without performing for anyone. That clarity is the actual asset. The business follows it, not the other way round.

Try this: before you touch your content calendar this week, write one sentence on who you are now that you weren't five years ago. Start there, not with your offer.

2. They call it a trend. It's a systems problem, and it's fixable.

The "invisible majority" isn't invisible because she's got nothing to say. She's invisible because she's still building visibility the old way, one exhausting post at a time, with no system underneath it. Ai, when used right, can hand back the hours that visibility used to cost. Not so you sound like a robot. So the version of you that's actually worth seeing has more time to show her face.

Try this: pick one piece of content you rewrite from scratch every single week, and hand the first draft of it to an Ai tool this week to improve. But not like "act as a marketing expert and make it better" but "you are a direct response copywriter with 15 years writing [your sector] social media posts"

3. They call us a demographic. We are a thread, not a segment.🧵

None of the coverage said this bit, and it's the whole point of what I'm building: you are not "part of" the invisible majority. You are your own unrepeatable combination of everything you've lived, taught, survived, loved (and lost), and that thread is what makes you visible, not a trend article deciding to notice you.

Try this: say it out loud once today, even if it feels strange. "I am the niche." Notice what shifts when you actually believe it.

That's the gap none of these three pieces closed. Our own unique identity layer, using bespoke systems that give you your time back. That's exactly the space I've been quietly building in.

2 things I'm loving

✦ The ROOT Framework

The more of you who go through this framework, the better it gets. If you haven't tried it yet, invest 30-45 minutes in getting crystal clear of the single thread that runs through your years of live experience. "The ROOT framework grounded my business in the best way... my mission, my approach, all of it suddenly made sense." That's Beecher, founder of EFT Social Club.

✦ Brand & Bloom, the waitlist just opened

This is the room I've been hinting at for a few weeks. Brand & Bloom is AI marketing for female founders in their second spring: beautiful branding, simple systems, content that sounds unmistakably like you, going out every week without eating your evenings. I'm working with a small founding group first.

1 affirmation

This is the affirmation I want you to sit with this week, especially if a headline about being "overlooked" has ever hit home for you:

I am building a life that reflects who I really am.

Hit reply and tell me what you’re doing to shift towards a life that reflects your true self.

That's your 3-2-1 for this week. Back next Thursday.

With love & creativity,

xo, Louise 🫶

P.S. Founding spots for Brand & Bloom are limited on purpose. I want to work closely with this first group, not sell to a crowd. If you've already done ROOT, this is the space your thread leads to next. And, if you haven’t? Go do it!
